FLINT SCULPTURES, Brighton allotment, East Sussex

Flint-knapped mythological figures made by Rory McCormack on his Brighton allotment. Rory identified the group of three statues as Tauret (the Egyptian hippopotamus goddess), Bes (the Egyptian god of fertility, humour and war) and a “slender Minotaur’. The cross-legged figure represents a Mexican god with a brazier (used as a bird table) on his head and the large pagan figure is Priapus, the guardian of orchards and gardens. The site has not been photographed before.
